Package – How to rename and create neutral files in bulk

You can create a package from documents which gives you the option to rename CAD documents and create neutral files in bulk. On the desktop app:

1. Create a folder to store the documents to be created.
2. Select documents.
3. Select Workflow > Package.
4. Confirm the selected documents and click Next.
5. Select which neutral files you want to create by file type. Click Next.
6. Select a naming pattern:
   Part Number + Revision
   Original Name + Revision
   Part Number Only
   Original Name
   Custom Template
7. For the custom template, you can include:
   {Revision} – Revision name in Vistapoint
   {PartNumber} – The document number in Vistapoint
   {OriginalName} – The original file name
   You can also add index fields. Click the button Available Fields for a comprehensive list of fields.
8. You can edit the name further by selecting in the new file name text field.
9. Click Next.
10. Browse for a folder to store the new documents. Click Next.
11. Click Finish.
