How to bulk rename documents
UpdatedOctober 30, 2025
You can bulk rename documents for example to rename to a part number, adding a revision, or adding a suffix in the following steps:
- On the Vistapoint web app navigate to a folder containing the documents you want to rename.
- Select documents to rename.
- Select More > Workflow > Rename.
- Select from the dropdown:
Custom – Edit each name individually.
Add Revision Name – Add the revision name (or any suffix) at the end of the name.
To Number – Rename to the document number. - You can edit the new names in the new name field.
- Click Submit.
After renaming, you might want to update the references in assemblies. Checkout this article for more: How to rename references without breaking assembly relationships
