How to create CAD neutral files (STEP, PDF, etc.)
UpdatedApril 18, 2025
You can create STEP, PDF, and other neutral versions of CAD files for certain CAD software. This can help you create versions to share with the manufacturing or external teams. CAD neutral files can be created in bulk at check-in on the desktop app MyWork tab. Perform the following steps to create CAD neutral files right before you are ready to check in your changes.
- On the desktop app, navigate to the MyWork tab.
- Select documents in the changes section that you want to create a CAD neutral file for.
- Select More > Create Neutral Files.
- If the selected documents are available to create a CAD neutral file, they will show in the dialog.
- Select for each file type, which neutral version(s) you want to create.
- Click Ok.
