Vistapoint October 2025 Release Notes

The October release contains updates for easier more secure login, workflow module, tasks, performance improvements, and a new look and feel with the updated logo.

New Feature – Workflow (Beta)

• The beta version of the workflow module was added to the desktop app for configuration and workflow processing and the web app for workflow processing. The workflow module includes the following features:
  • Workflow steps: To define certain workflows to assign tasks, review processes, and automate document actions.
  • Tasks: Assign and automate task creation for each workflow step.
  • Actions: Assign certain actions to perform after each workflow step outcome. For example, after a task is completed, you can lock/unlock documents, set a status, or notify someone.
  • Rules: Create rules to check the status of documents allowed to run through a workflow.
  • Documents/Attachments: Assign documents and relevant documents to run through the workflow.

Desktop App

• New feature: Added the workflow module. See notes above.
• New feature: Added button from the workspace documents view to open the work folder. Action can be found under, Edit > Open Work Folder. This takes you directly to the file located on your local Vistapoint folder.
• Improvement: Added automatic refresh for document changes if new documents were check-ed out, checked-in, imported or discarded.
• Improvement: Added connection string input dialog box if no connection is available for easier onboarding and login.
• Improvement: Changed naming from Edit > Edit to Edit > Check-out + Open.
• Fixed issue: Improved screen scaling and resolution for different display settings.
• Fixed issue: Updated reference image on reference tree select from the Document Properties window.
• Improvement: Added loading panel for MyWork load and folder select changes.
• Improvement: Added refresh token for improved login experience and more secure session handling. No need to keep logging in.
• Improvement: New look and feel with updated Vistapoint logo.
• New feature: Add toggle in user preferences to disable/enable CAD File Managers to analyze documents before checking in.
• Improvement: Improved performance of MyWork loading. New performance improvements for Getting Latest coming soon…
• Improvement: Added check for where used changed for SolidWorks. If references were moved or renamed, a dialog to update parents will show when updating the workspace through MyWork.

Web app

• New feature: Added the workflow module. See notes above.
• Improvement: Improved clarity of create revision dialog. Added review window to confirm changes before creating a new revision.
• New feature: Added subscription and license handling for administrators to directly manage billing, add licenses, and assign licenses directly in the web app.
• Improvement: Added refresh token for a better logon experience and more secure session handling.
• Improvement: Improved automatic refresh for larger import amounts.
• Improvement: New look and feel with updated Vistapoint logo.

Server

• Improvement: Added support for better license management.
• New feature: Added Workflow management and processing. See notes above.
• Improvement: Added refresh token for better session handling.
